Allie Taisey - Full Bio and CV

Allie Taisey
Research Entomologist, M.A., B.C.E.
BedBug Central

Allie Taisey, board certified research entomologist for BedBug Central, has emerged as a leading researcher and advocate for combating bedbugs in public housing. For the past five years, Taisey has spearheaded Integrated Pest Management (IPM) initiatives for government agencies and housing authorities across the country to develop protocols to help protect some of country’s most vulnerable segments from bedbugs and other insects. Taisey specializes in diverse areas of bedbug management that include bedbug research, pest elimination strategies, program development, and protocol implementation.

Fueled by her desire to reach a board spectrum of the public, Taisey also received an M.A. in Teaching in addition to her degree in entomology. Taisey’s unique educational background has made her an invaluable resource on projects funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for her work with Cornell University’s Northeastern IPM Center. Taisey also works with more than 30 housing authorities across the country on projects that bridge the gap between research and real-world implementation. Taisey’s current projects with BedBug Central have expanded her specialization to sectors and industries outside of public housing that require an expertise in bedbug management.

Taisey is the co-author of, “What’s Working for Bed Bug Control in Multifamily Housing: Reconciling best practices with research and the realities of implementation,” for the National Center of Healthy Housing and numerous other publications. Allie tweets pest control tips and new resources from @taiseybug.

Allie Taisey has a Bachelor of Science in Entomology from Cornell University, a Master of Art in Teaching from Cornell University, and became a Board Certified Entomologist in 2012.
