University of Nebraska Creates Bed Bug Housing Plan After Spring Semester Infestation

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln faced a challenge during the 2012 spring semester: bed bugs. Since January, University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) had eight dogs search all 3,256 rooms on City and East campuses and 197 rooms were heat treated for bed bugs.  During the inspection, UNL created a website which provides bed bug education, detection and prevention tips. UNL also developed a bed bug housing plan for potential future infestations.
